In and around the city

This is a collage of how we spent our time in Barcelona. Clara was a great little traveler and enjoyed being perched in front of Paul in the baby bjorn. She was absolutely irresistible to those passing by and I became quite irritated with the many strangers who would pinch her cheeks and grab her hands. After visiting the Dali museum I decided she too needed a little placard placed on her that read "favor de no tocar" (please no touching). Clara loved the attention though and it was amazing to see her smile light up the countenaces of just about everyone passing by.

In these little photos you will first see me desperately trying to keep Clara quiet on the airplane - the oversized earplugs and eye mask actually worked! Also pictured are various works of Gaudi and Dali, Paul stepping out of a bakery with a bag of treats, a variety of ham and sausages, spanish tortilla, me on a bench changing a diaper, pushing a stroller down the Ramblas, Paul and I on the Costa Brava, and Clara just being so cute and bug eyed.

In Barcelona, Paul really enjoyed casually strolling the streets, taking in the familiar sights, sounds, and scents, doubling back to his favorite haunts of yore, and striking up random conversations with the locals. He patiently endured hours of foot-numbing shopping - everything from fabric to shoes to clothes to Spanish lace - and faithfully served as translator extraordinaire.
