How to wear a dull color

I wasn't sure how Maryanna would take to the shirt I dyed for her, it's not easy to wear Mao suit blue when you are a 5 year old girl.  Independently she paired it with a pink fluffy skirt, polka dot leg warmers, red cowboy boots and of course a silly smile. I believe she pulled it off, in fact she nailed it.  Just for fun and just for one day I may let her dress me in whatever combo she pleases because I'm all too comfortable in my dull colors.

In other news........we spent the day on Friday at the Henry Ford Museum.  There was a great traveling exhibit with all sorts of over sized games and we practically had the place to ourselves.

Someone stopped to ask me if this was my class and I cheerfully responded "this is my family".  Did I ever mention how much I enjoy field trips with this little crowd?

The boys love the paper airplane testing tunnel.  We spent enough time there for me to slowly and comfortably nurse George on a bench near by.

We all love this cool old bus and no matter how many hours we spend at this place there never seems to be enough time to see everything.  And we always leave with William's camera memory card full.

  1. Maryanna is a natural fashionista! I have one daughter who is very good at making any clothes go together. She chooses our outfits for family portraits straight from our closets so we don't have to spend any extra money.

I used to live in Fort Valley, Georgia where they still make Blue Bird buses. It's a tiny little town but people think there's a huge school district when they see rows and rows of school buses parked in the lot!

  2. I love your kids...they seem like such fun little people. I can't believe how grown up Maryanna is now. Last time I saw you, you were still pregnant with her!

    Miss you guys!

  3. I love Maryanna's poofy pink skirt and red cowgirl boots! She's so fun and silly, and has a beautiful grin. Looks like the museum was lots of fun. I miss the days of taking family field trips. It has gotten harder to find something everyone enjoys, because what is fun and interesting to the little kids is boring to the older ones. Oh well! That's part of the challenge.

  4. I love it! She is darling! I tend to get stuck in a rut with dark colors. My girls are always trying to get me to be more colorful! :) Black, brown, grays, whites - well they are just more practical! I like to blend in . . .
