Geography Review

There hasn't been much formal teaching or enriching activities in our homeschool for weeks.  I've been feeling kind of guilty about it until I observed this activity the boys came up with.

One would call out a State and the other two with Nerf guns would aim and  try to get closest to the capital city.  They are all pretty good shooters after going to the Cabella's shooting gallery with Opa all summer.  As for their geography skills, they could keep practicing.

  1. Love it! I can so see my kids enjoying such an activity!

All my two little guys want to do lately is dig in the garden. Mud is everywhere! (Which is difficult for me right now because our house is for sale!) With my two oldest being girls I am still adjusting to what to do with boys! They have so much energy and their learning comes from doing a lot more active stuff than my girls.

  2. Al, I'll leave a comment before I call you. ha! Great geography game! I think I would be bad at the geography and the shooting. You could add this as an event in a "Home School Olympic" competition.

  4. This reminds me of our trip to Myrtle Beach in 03. James was still 3 - we were bored on the drive and quizzing each other on State capitals. James (who had a hard time napping in the car) was listening and wanted to play along. He soon knew all the capitals and then moved on to Countries and their capitals and then flags.
