Here is another one for Henry. The collared shirt is from an Old Navy T but the overalls are Paul's old khakis. It is lined in a striped knit from the fabric fairy and finished with brown snaps.
Paul added the blackberry to complete the business casual look. Notice he is "working" on the bottle.
The patterns are from this book. I admit I have not been reading as much as the boys because most my favorite books are in Japanese but I spend a lot of time flipping through them dreaming about what I will make next. Marie' has helped me acquire quite a collection so it may be worth blogging my winter reading (or just looking) book list as well.

I wanted to make those overalls, too, but was sad to see the pattern only up to 12 months. They look so cute and polished. The stripe really completes the look. Did you line the whole overalls?
ReplyDeleteAl--they turned out cute. Is this what you were working on when I was talking to you last night?
ReplyDeleteMarie'- I think these would be simple to resize. I actually added 3/8" to the torso length because cloth diapers are so bulky and because I wanted a bit of growing room. They are really wide or Henry is really narrow.
ReplyDeleteI lined them fully because that is what I deciphered from the instructions but I could be way off. Although extra fabric = $$$ I like to fully line things because it is easier for me and I have a thing about messy insides. It is also nice for babies and kids who are rough on their clothes (these will be crawling and scooting proof) They are technically reversible but I don't see him wearing the other side out.
Emily- Yes this is the project I was working on while I talked to you. Don't look too closely at the pocket or you will see why I let out a bit of frustration.
That pattern book is adorable, but how do you figure it out since it is in japanese? Much cuter than all of the ones I see from Butterick, McCalls, etc etc.I am getting really tired of making the same old stuff but I'm a little scared to do something where I can't understand the language.
ReplyDeleteIwatched Henry during church yesterday and noticed his outfit. I think yu should have a line of designer Kid clothes Al, that is one great outfit and he looked so good in it.
