This was assembled from all the scraps I couldn't bear to toss after a few of my other refashioning projects. The gray was originally a long knit patagonia skirt picked up from a yard sale and then used as the lining of these pants. The orange was originally an Old Navy T then went to Peter's hoodie, and the blue was also an Old Navy T then cut into something you may see finished by the weekend.
Baby clothes are ideal for scraps and refashioning because you don't need much fabric. You could also use them for doll clothes. That sets up a bit of a dilemma for me. I want to whittle down my fabric collection but it is hard to do so when I'm saving every scrap. My bins are starting to look like garbage - tell me what you do with you scraps.
I was happy Marie' liked my last clean out of scraps and I can't wait to see what she does with them.

I give (or maybe they are taken) by my daughter who fashions doll colthes, blankets, and even some dress up for her and little sis. She doesn't have a lot of skill yet, but there is no denying her flare :D
ReplyDeleteEsther- Why didn't I think of that! I will start a scrap bin for the kids to play with and cut up. My girls are just 3 & 2 though so I don't think much will come of it but more scraps. But it sure beats junkie toys
ReplyDeleteThe color combination of the shirt is just perfect. I have been looking everywhere for that grey color knit, but maybe I should look at mens old navy clearance and buy the biggest size.
ReplyDeleteSO here goes nothing! remember ... don't tell my identity!!! THis is goin to be fun... love the clothes :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this the other day...if I had scraps I would make one!

Also, I just showed Scott your big/little posting with Paul posing like a BB model. He laughed.. then he said- why don't you make things out of my old clothes and stop shopping? Seriously?? My children would look homeless if I started sewing for them. Plus, I really love the shopping part :)
