maybe more but lets hope for less. I don't think I'll be posting any more sewing projects because as you can see I can barely fit behind my sewing machine. I can't remember if I have ever been this big before but I pretty much am doing all my tasks sideways and only have a few items of clothing that will keep this big bulge covered.
This week will be filled with long naps, and careful study of this book, an early baby gift that Paul gave me.

I would say your ready!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I shouldn't ride my bike to work this week...
ReplyDeleteOK, Alison, that is an impressive sight. I am looking forward to the news.
ReplyDeleteYour tummy is so huge yet you are still so little! You are adorable! Can't wait to hear the news...

Al - get induced already! ugggh that looks unnatural. you're baby looks like it's just going to fall off your teeny tiny body! suz
ReplyDeleteSuz,
ReplyDeleteI have been reading many books on childbirth lately. Right now I am reading "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" by Henci Goer
I have learned there are risks and disadvantages to being induced when not medically necessary:
Labor is more painful. (More likely to have an epidural - see below for risks of epidural)
Requires being hooked up to IV and fetal monitors constantly
Restricts mother's ability to be mobile during labor.
Often leads to fetal distress.
Doubles the odds of the baby being born in poor condition.
Can cause increased postpartum blood loss and newborn jaundice.
Increases the risk of having a C-section.
Disadvantages/Risks from having an Epidural:
Can cause a rapid drop in blood pressure which can put mother and baby at risk (this happened to me - is very scary and is what is making me research all of this)
Can cause fever/ spinal headaches.
Sometimes doesn't work and other times there is too much drug given.
Itching can occur all over your body. (This happened to me, too and lasted about 2 days.)
The epidural can slow labor.
Epidural labors are more likely to result in C-section than natural labors.
Epidurals can cause babies to have breathing problems.
Although rare, epidurals can cause paralysis.
Dear Alison...you sure don't have anymore room to expand. I don't know how you took all the children to see the "fish" in Sandy, Utah. Wow! You are one special mom. We are thinking and praying that you have a easy and safe delivery. We love you....Mom and Dad Fredenberg
