Farewell My Faithful Mini Van

By Peter

I was so sad when we sold our mini van. It felt kind of like if I had a really fun thing and somebody broke it. When the man picked up the mini van I was just crying. I wanted to keep it for James for when he is 16.

I love the mini-van because of the look. I put a Michigan sticker on the back and an elephant sticker on the back. We drove the mini van to lots of fun places like Yellowstone, Washington, California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Philadelphia, Michigan, North Carolina, Atlanta zoo, Costco, the Aquarium, Mapleton, St. George, church, 7-11, the playground, and the Dinosaur museum.

Now we have a new car so the baby could have a seat. I call it the beast because it is hard to climb up in. I like the spinners and DVD players.

  2. Peter,

I will be sad when we get rid of our old van too. Now you can make happy memories in your new car--maybe lots of trips down to Mapleton. Your lucky your new car has a DVD.

  3. I too am so sad about the mini-van. I loved it! It was so functional.

The new car....I really wanted a 15 passenger van but that will have to wait. We bought my sister's old souped up suburban - spinners and all. Great thing about it is it can climb up snowy roads leading to our house and has a bench in the front with an added bench in the back giving us a total of 12 seatbelts.

  4. Peter - I will miss our van also. When I was cleaning it out I found all kinds of fun toys under the seats, shells, wrappers, receipts, etc. - they reminded me of all the good times we had in there. We also used it to move several times - with the seats folded down sometimes it seemed like the minivan could swallow up a whale!

  5. Well, once you outgrow the 12 seater suburban (after your 10th child) your dream can come true.

  6. I will miss your mini van too. It came to see us in Evanston, IL when your mom had you in her tummy, and then to Philadelphia when you were only three months old. You were tiny and very cute.

  7. Peter,
I have another memory of your minivan. When you were tiny in your mom's tummy, we took that Minivan with Me, little Abigial, James, and William on a road trip to the beach in South Carolina. I was impressed with the van and its automatic door and 18 cup holders. During that trip, James, your Mommy, and I were obsessed with quizzing eachother on States and their capitals. That was a fun roadtrip.

  8. Peter,

Here's another memory of your mini-van. Your mom drove by herself to Philadelphia with James, William and you when you were a little baby. She was worried about parking in the street so she splurged and paid $20 for parking. I even got to drive back to the city when we went to IKEA. (Your mom was a little nervous about me driving and was worried that I'd end up on the turnpike!

Once we have our third baby we'll start making mini-van memories too!

  9. Hi Peter!
Poppy and I have another memory of your mini van. We remember the day we all went to pick it up it up from the dealership in Philly.
I got to ride in it with all of your family from the dealership to your home in Philly.
We played music from "Mama Mia" ..it was so much fun being all together, singing and riding in the beautiful brand new mini van.
When we come to Utah, we will have to check out the beast. Love, Nanny
