My sisters are planning a trip back to NPS so I had to get working on my recently purchased fabric stash. The fabric was so cheap that I just went at it with a piece of chalk and some scissors using my favorite hoodie as a guide. Instead of a hood though I added a wide standing collar with an offset button closure.
I call it "mom wear" because it's not lounge wear or active wear but fills the semi-stylish functional gap in my wardrobe. In order for something to be considered mom wear it must fit into at least a few of these categories:
-machine washable
-pockets
-absorbent
-wrinkle free
-stain resistant
-stretchy
-won't irritate baby skin
-does not look like pajamas

I love it!!! I need to make one--but it looks a bit complicated. Can't wait for the sewing party!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! And I really like your criteria for Mom Wear. You are very creative!
ReplyDeleteThat is so perfect for an active mom like you. Love how you finished the collar. It gives the polished touch.
ReplyDeleteI am venturing out and working on some refashioning. I will post it soon.
It's fabulous! You are so handy. And frugal!
ReplyDeleteI need some Mom Wear. Do you want to take another trip to my closet? It's been 2 1/2 years since our last closet project.
ReplyDeleteLove the cute "momwear"!! What a clever idea! And red is a great color!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my little blog today! Hang in there with your teenager!
Amen to mom-wear. Years ago I saw a 'make-over' show for moms. It was ridiculous! Who in their right mind would wear "dry-clean only" to face "the troops"?!
ReplyDeleteLove the button collar. Again, I wish I could sew!
