Last night was our annual Christmas Tree Sleep-over. There really wasn't much sleeping though. The older boys read by flashlights while the girls re-decorated the tree. This was the scene I found when I got up to nurse Henry at 5:00 am.
After I took the picture I sealed up the rest of my Christmas cards and instead of finishing up my sewing, I decided to go back to bed. So don't get too excited about those projects I mentioned - they may be put on the back burner until the slower days after the holidays. A wise friend reminded me that my kids would be better off with a happy well-rested mother than a last minute handmade gift.
Meanwhile Maryanna has been working on her own projects. cutting up pictures (she said she was making puzzles), and cutting up her pants "because I don't like the purple hearts on them - I just want pink hearts".

Has Maryanna cut her own hair? Asha did that the night before her first day of pre-kindergarten. I just about died. She said her bangs were too long. They were about an inch long after she fixed the problem.
ReplyDeleteI love laying under the tree. I have taken a few naps, but I have the weirdest dreams because the kids make so much noise around me.
We had our Christmas tree sleep-over last night, too. Our family room looked much like yours this morning.
ReplyDeleteI love this Alison! They are all so cute asleep next to the beautiful lit-up tree. What a fun mommy you are!
ReplyDeleteAl--they look like they had fun. We have to move furniture so we all fit by the tree. The older teenagers usually move to their comfortable bed before falling asleep and I only find the younger children ones sleeping by the tree in the morning.
